INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOL, HAJIPUR a new venture in the field of education was established in 1992 by eminent educationists of Bihar to serve those section of the population who were compelled to send their wards outside Bihar in absence of quality and affordable education close at home. In this process they not only incurred huge expenses, in addition their wards too were deprived of affection and guidance of their parents. The school was envisioned to serve this section of our population. The School was granted affiliation by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi in April 2000 up to class X and in April 2004, up to class XII.

Indian Public School, Hajipur has to its history twenty five years of glorious journey with the pursuit of providing quality education for the disadvantaged particularly and also all the sections of society in Bihar. The school is nestled in the sprawling campus at a strategic location in the city of Hajipur. Historically, the city gained significance as it was the venue for one of the discourses of Gautam Buddha and it is from here that Buddha announced his Parinirvana. Hajipur is also the place where democracy found its origin in 600 BC and the ancient Licchavi republic was established here. In the current times the city is credited to be the second fastest growing town after Patna in the state of Bihar.

Founding Chairman Message

Dr. Bachoo Sinha, the Chairman of our school, was a well-known figure in the academic circles in the state of Bihar. After having done his secondary education from Zila School, Chapra, he joined Patna University from where he did his honours and post-graduation courses in Political Science with first class result. He also obtained his Ph.D. degree from Patna University. He started his career as a lecturer in Political Science in Rajendra College, Chapra in 1960. He was awarded UGC teacher research fellowship for three years. Later, he joined Patna University where he was elevated to the post of Reader and then University Professor. Dr. Sinha was always innovative in the field of education right from the beginning of his career. Because of his knack and skill in applying latest techniques and methods in teaching and research he carried high reputation as an efficient and popular educationist.

Late Mr. S. Sinha, the former Director of Indian Public School, graduated from Gaya College and received his post-graduate degree from Banaras Hindu University. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Education (M.Ed.) from Patna University. As a keen, inquisitive and sensitive student he had a natural inclination and aptitude for a teaching and educational research. He had varied and wide experience of working in various esteemed educational institutions. He founded and developed Government subsidized Higher Secondary School in Palamu and gained reputation as a Model Principal.

As I mentioned above- Education is the only weapon we can use, if we want to change this world. Children and youth are the powerful assets for our Country and fortunately we have both to combine these to change the world. My motto is to move everyone from darkness to light through education. Indian Public School is a symbol of progressive and quality education. We prepare the students for tomorrow, so that they can contribute themselves for this society and the Nation. We work around making studies as effortless by developing healthy teacher- students relationship. In our School children will gain an all-round education" and achieve their potential not just in the academic field but also in extracurricular activities.

‘Let a Child be a Child Before he is a Man’, said J.J Rousseau, a French philosopher and an advocate of Naturalism. It is gratifying to note that the planners of education sitting at the helm of affairs are aware and conscious of this fact. Every day we come across enthusiastic parents anxious to see their children learn more and more and acquire as much knowledge as possible within a short span of time. This is hazardous and may block the natural growth of a child. A child can take the load of a child only and putting the load of a man on him may turn him into a dwarf. Our firm belief in not overburdening the students by bookish knowledge and adding to the number of books and subject is also in consonance with the policy and programmes of the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.
